Terms of Service
The short version. EmailSort sorts your inbox using AI. You buy credits up front and spend them as you use AI features. Credits are not refundable once used. The AI can make mistakes, so check anything important before you rely on it. You can stop using EmailSort at any time.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By installing or using EmailSort, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Who can use EmailSort
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use EmailSort only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and only they may make purchases. You must have the right to access any email account you connect.
3. What the service does
EmailSort connects to email accounts you choose, reads your messages, and sorts them into categories using AI. It also lets you search, ask questions, reply, forward, compose, draft, archive, star, and delete mail. It is a tool for working with your existing mailbox — it is not an email provider, and it does not host or back up your mail.
4. Your email accounts
You are responsible for the accounts you connect and for keeping your credentials safe. We recommend creating a dedicated app password for IMAP accounts so you can revoke it independently. You can disconnect an account at any time, which removes its credentials from your device.
Actions you take in EmailSort happen in your real mailbox. Deleting a message moves it to your provider’s Trash; archiving moves it to your provider’s archive. We do not keep a copy, so we cannot recover anything your provider has permanently removed.
5. Credits and payment
AI features consume credits. Credits are prepaid: you buy a pack, and the balance is reduced as you use AI features. Reading, replying, archiving, starring, deleting, and browsing folders do not consume credits.
- The amount consumed depends on how much work the AI does — a larger inbox costs more to sort than a small one.
- New accounts receive a one-time allocation of free trial credits. While on trial credits, the extension sorts a limited number of your most recent emails.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- When your balance runs out, AI features pause. The rest of the extension keeps working.
- We may change credit pricing. Changes apply to future purchases, never to credits you have already bought.
6. Refunds
Unused credits may be refunded within [14] days of purchase if you contact us. Credits already spent are not refundable, because the underlying AI cost has already been incurred. If the service is broken and we cannot fix it, we will refund your unused balance regardless of when you bought it.
7. Using AI, and its limits
EmailSort uses Anthropic’s Claude to sort mail, answer questions, and draft text. AI makes mistakes. It may put an email in the wrong category, miss something, misread a message, or write something inaccurate.
- Check anything important before relying on it — especially deadlines, amounts, and instructions.
- Read any draft the AI writes before you send it. You are responsible for messages sent from your account.
- When you ask the chat to delete, archive, or move mail, it will confirm before doing anything destructive — but you remain responsible for confirming it.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Connect an email account you are not authorised to access
- Use EmailSort to send spam, phishing, or unlawful messages
- Try to bypass credit metering, session checks, or other limits
- Attack, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service
- Use the service to break any law or infringe anyone’s rights
We may suspend or terminate accounts that do these things.
9. Availability
EmailSort is provided as-is and may be unavailable at times — for maintenance, or because a provider we depend on (your mail provider, our AI provider, or our hosting) is down. We do not promise any particular level of uptime.
10. Ownership
EmailSort, including its name, design, and code, belongs to us. Your email content belongs to you — using EmailSort gives us no ownership of it, and no right to use it for anything beyond running the features you have asked for.
11. Disclaimers
EmailSort is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost mail, missed messages, or lost opportunities arising from your use of EmailSort.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the [12] months before the claim arose.
Some places do not allow these limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer.
13. Ending your use
You can stop at any time by removing your accounts and uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue it, we will refund any unused credits.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will update the date above and let you know in the extension. Continuing to use EmailSort after a change means you accept it.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY], without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of southwestern Los Angeles County.
